According to The Hollywood Reporter, an independent feature film is in development about Stephen Matt Morrow—known to more than 1.6 million YouTube subscribers as Vegas Matt—marking the latest sign of mainstream entertainment’s growing fascination with casino content creation.
While traditional advantage play—a strategy-driven niche where gamblers use math and timing to tilt the odds—has long fascinated casinos, Hollywood is expanding its lens to include the modern world of slot influencers and casino content creators.

The lottery operator also criticised government proposals for a blanket advertising ban on licensed online gambling providers in June. It argued such restrictions could inadvertently drive more players towards unregulated, illegal platforms.
According to Nederlandse Loterij, illegal operators currently control approximately half of the Dutch online gambling market and account for roughly 95% of online gambling advertisements, frequently masquerading as licensed providers.
The Loterij suggested around 200,000 Dutch citizens already engage with unauthorised platforms.

The charter does not create new regulatory obligations and was designed to complement legislation including the EU AI Act and GDPR.
Instead, it proposed a risk-based approach. It suggested lighter controls on use cases such as coding assistants, but strong checks on customer-facing functions, particularly those involving fraud and responsible gambling.
Kenneth Brincat, CEO of the MDIA, said companies needed “practical ways” to better understand where AI fits within their businesses.
